This 1992 release was the group's first with bassist, James McNew. It's on this record that the band really begin to expand musically, drawing songs out further than they had before. Ira Kaplan's sudden white-hot guitar squalls really begin to show signs of brilliance and the excellence of the records that follow this one is foreshadowed here.
