Ball (feat. Lil Wayne)
Label: Grand Hustle, LLC
After the downer that was T.I.'s No Mercy, which was overshadowed by yet another prison sentence, he's in better spirits on Trouble Man. It doesn't have the resonance of his early albums, and despite a running theme that explores his life as a recidivist felon ("Wildside"), he copies Paper Trail's mix of pop singles ("Guns & Roses" with P!nk), thug-club jams ("Ball" with Lil Wayne) and Dirty South slumpers ("The Way We Ride"). It's predictable, but he hits the right beats. "Sorry," which includes a verse from the always excellent Andre 3000, is a standout moment.
