Unfashionable in all the best ways, this burly Kentucky metal quintet opens "More Wicked Than Not" by rhyming "Moses" with "roses," then decorates the Sabbath-weight prog with cute arpeggios and synth-like curlicues. They follow two hopeful torch ballads with two melodramatic perils-of-war crunchers, then drum-roll á la "Hot for Teacher" in "Believe." After that: strutting '70s-ish speed-sludge, fusion blooze, quiet-storm pomp-rock, wacky vaudeville hoedowns, cascading guitar harmonies to match sunshining vocal harmonies. Somehow, the album grows even cheesier and looser-limbed as it goes.
