Just A Matter Of Time
Label: Mercury Nashville
You have to applaud Randy Rogers for not selling out on his major label debut. He could've come out sounding like Rascal Flatts, but Just A Matter Of Time sounds way more like early Whiskeytown, especially on the drunken, romantic swagger of "Kiss Me In The Dark," which he wrote with hit-scribe George Ducas. If Rogers had to choose a slower song for the title track, it should have been "Whiskey's Got a Hold on Me," because you'll feel hungover after hearing the lazy slide guitar and especially after listening to how the protagonist's life is perpetually pickled in the sweet brown sauce.
