Sad Wind Sighs
Label: New Rounder
Some folks think honky-tonk and bluegrass are like oil and water. But don't try telling that to the Grascals, who bridge the two with equal parts finesse and grit. One minute they're howling "I can hear my darlin' softly calling/ But she's asleep in the cold, cold ground," and the next they're plaintively ruminating choices that should've been made. Further evidence is a rollicking take on "Only Daddy That Will Walk the Line," a tune previously covered by the likes of Waymore and Bocephus.
