None of Susheela Raman's releases have lived up to the promise of 2001's Salt Rain, which tried to do less, perhaps, but did it exceedingly well. Music For Crocodiles has some wonderful moments, including "L'ame Volatile," "Leela" and "Chordhiya," but songs like the title track veer into rock territory, which doesn't fit her miraculous, subtle vocal talents.
