M.A.D. (Mutual Assured Destruction)
After all the hype, all the posturing and even Tony James' deft manipulation of the press, the Sputniks are really only remembered because of "Love Missile F1-11" being on the Ferris Bueller's Day Off soundtrack. This second album contains no such single, and even the hit-making talents of Stock, Aitken and Waterman (ironically on "Success") can't save it, although "Boom Boom Satellite" is sweet. A period piece then, and an interesting example of how to get the most out of your allotted 15 minutes of fame.
