On Sean Price's solo debut, the Heltah Skeltah emcee comes out blasting. Price has a gruff voice and a rigid flow that rumbles over the production's skeletal NYC soul. His lyrics are shrewd and violent: there's "coke in the drawers," "crack in the ass" and Sean has a "glock with a clock on the top," so he can tell what "motherf*cking time it is" when he caps you. It's a swerving, dirty braggadocio -- reminiscent of a time when emcees would rather whoop your ass in the alley than steal your girl at the club. The vulgarity is balanced by the wispy, at times ghostly, production.
