The sophomore release from one of neo-soul's key architects is considerably more upbeat than Saadiq's 2003 debut, Instant Vintage. It still has Sadiq's "gospeldelic" signature sound, but tracks such as "Not a Game" (featuring Babyface) and "Rifle Love" (which finds him reuniting with Tony! Toni! Tone!) mix pop-tinged R&B with blaxploitation funk.
