About Pink Anderson
As a fingerpicking blues man, Pink Anderson traversed across America for nearly forty years in a traveling medicine show before laying anything down on a record. Taking the music borne out of the Appalachian foothills, he began to record his broad range of Ragtime, minstrel songs and acoustic slide blues in the late ‘50s. Not as well-respected as some of the other Delta Blues players of the time, Pink made a big enough impression on a young Syd Barrett for him to name his band after him.
