Moritz Von Oswald The One version of 'Welt Am Draht'
Label: Rough Trade
Pantha Du Prince's 2010 album Black Noise represented the apotheosis of the Berlin musician's singular style, wedding bell-tone melodies to purring machine rhythms, nudging techno towards lush dream pop. This collection is less cohesive, with a handful of songs remixed multiple times, but its tangents are well worth pursuing. All the artists share Pantha's subtler tendencies, but their own eccentric styles shine through in elliptic grooves and lush tone poems; Animal Collective, whose Panda Bear sang on the original album, score a wispy, meditative hit with their ambient rework.
