Take Me For A Ride
Neon Trees
Released:
Label:
Mercury Records
Lovers of the post-punk movement of the early '00s, Neon Trees offer a slightly more danceable, poppy version of what heroes The Killers and Yeah Yeah Yeahs have been up to. That means there are guitars, but the choruses are sugar-sweet and the synthesizers sound more like Howard Jones than Tubeway Army. The '80s super-funk winner "Weekend" even shows they don't just love Hall & Oates, they can sound like them, too.
