Live at Rome Olympic Stadium
Muse
Released:
Label:
Warner Records
The ideal way to hear this band's most popular songs is an
Olympic stadium, with the albums' orchestral frills replaced with
thundering low end. The steroidal treatment gives the funky "Panic
Station" a Bonham-esque whomp, and the riff-march "Supremacy" a crunch
absent from the studio iteration. Their sole perfect song "Madness" is
made even dirtier, both sonically (improved guitar solo) and lyrically
(the ad-libbed f-bomb makes it even sexier). Aside from presenting the
eight-minute "Knights of Cydonia" in full, this is a band that
tightens up when they go big.
