Songs From The Movie
Label: New Rounder
Here you go, Hallmark Channel music directors and Mary Chapin Carpenter super-fans: an album composed entirely of orchestral (or "cinematic") re-imaginings of ten MCC tunes, ranging from the obscure (The Age of Miracles's "Mrs. Hemingway," for instance) to the somewhat popular (Come On Come On's "I Am a Town," among others). And where plenty of her songs were already fit for the screen, the new arrangements move them from the "characters struggle without each other" montage back to the climactic reunion. "Goodnight America," meanwhile, provides the end credits.
