About Lustmord
Rarely does something as horrific as Lustmord come our way. This solo project by Brian Williams has been a mainstay in the Dark Ambient world since the mid-1980s, producing soundscapes that envelop the listener in a rootless drift through nervous sound. Rather than produce long, drawn-out tensions that never find release as most other Ambient artists do, Lustmord creates a static state of dread. Grainy drones sound like desperate screams, wind instruments quiver like anxious nerves, and dreamy streams of sound echo endlessly like they are an acoustic representation of unyielding neuroses. Hyperbolic perhaps, but music can rarely become this disturbing without resorting to aggression. Lustmord doesn't assault you with sound, but creates an environment that draws you in and down and down and down.
