By The Grace Of God
Label: Capitol Records (CAP)
Prism doesn't stick its tongue out or drape itself in post-Warhol signifiers -- the record is consistent and professional and will appeal to all those who loved any of Teenage Dream's five No. 1 hits. But listen closely and you'll find that it's still plenty weird: Within six songs, we get a Prince-inspired jammer, a vocal house throwback, evidence that Dr. Luke has purchased new hip-hop snare samples, and even a Juicy J guest verse. Only one person could have made this album, and now everyone from your nephew to your grandma will try to get down to it.
