Berry's debut didn't do much in the way of chart performance in 1957, but the album is on fire within the first few seconds of "Too Much Monkey Business." He alternates innuendo with what would end up being the most influential guitar sound in rock 'n' roll. "School Days" and "Brown-Eyed Handsome Man" epitomize Berry's dirty brilliance.
