Their ninth CD offers music for honky tonkers with progressive tastes. "When We Were Kings" features a delayed guitar that sounds like the Edge from U2, but their twangy roadhouse rock never lets you forget that this is indeed a hot country band. Even the slower songs balance tradition with innovation quite tastefully.
