Before The Flood
It's a fact that when Bob Dylan has The Band behind him, his live performances straight-up smoke (start with "Tell Me Momma" on Live 1966). These cuts from their 1974 tour together, his first after an eight-year absence, comprise one of the greatest live rock records ever, of all time. Careening through both their catalogs, Dylan and The Band are like a charging freight train just barely on the rails, and most of these versions are definitive. There are some great Robbie Robertson guitar-freakout moments, too.
