Uncle Love (2012 Remaster)
Label: Parlophone UK
For their 1991 debut, Blur jumped on the caboose of Madchester madness, blanketing baggy beats in sheets of Graham Coxon's shoegazed guitar and Damon Albarn's deadpan British lilt. The poppy psychedelia of "She's So High" opens Leisure on an aptly high note; from there, it's clear the young band is trying to figure out their place in the U.K. scene, bouncing from the bubbly "There's No Other Way" to the comfortably numb "Birthday." This Special Edition includes a remaster of the original U.K. tracklisting (that means standout "Sing," which was inexplicably cut from the U.S. version).
