Another meeting between Baker and Pepper, this one matches hard bop tunes like Baker's title cut with more stereotypical 1950s West Coast fare like "Sonny Boy" (the flexible rhythm section is made up of Leroy Vinnegar, Pete Jolly and Stan Levey). Nobody has ever doubted Pepper's ability, though "Sweet Lorraine" shows just how good Baker was when just laying out a melody.
