Town Called Malice
Label: Polydor Records
This two-disc retrospective was originally released in 1983, soon after the Jam broke up. Snap! shows the development of one of the best rock bands in history. Their key singles, album cuts and B-sides are here, and this also includes the band's version of "Smither Jones" (which is presented in an "Eleanor Rigby" strings style on Setting Sons) and a demo version of "That's Entertainment." Check out "Tales of the Riverbank": it's a brilliant B-side that stands up to Paul Weller's finest songs. This remastered version restores the songs that were cut from previous CD editions.
